My buddy Rhino (a Rottweiler) is quite reactive when being handled at the vet. I explained this to the team prior to our visit, and they reassured me it wouldn’t be a problem. They were organized, professional, and incredibly patient no sedatives were needed. They even managed to draw a blood sample before he even noticed. I was so impressed. Two shots and a bag of treats later, he was all done. The knowledge and confidence the team provided was top-tier; they truly create specific care plans tailored to individual needs. Amazingly positive experience! I'm a busy working Mom and it is so hard to juggle the families extra curricular activities and appointments that trying to squeeze one more appointment in seems impossible! Dr. Leone is a PERFECT match. Dr. Leone spent so much time getting to know Liam and his specials needs. We were able to identify some good practices, like waiting a bit to play after eating to prevent vomiting from excitement. Dr. Leone recommended several medications but also talked through my need to be more organic and ways to blend the two. The education I received during her initial visit was invaluable! Dr. Leone is up to the minute abreast in the latest veterinarian practices and can explain in easy to understand language. I felt personally connected and already scheduled 3 additional appointments!

H & L Mobile Veterinary Services are more than helpful with suggestions and recommendations. They love taking care of pets, animals. If there is a question, there is a reply within 24 hours. When there are difficult decisions to make, they guide you and given options. It is very personalized with your wonderful pet and yourself. A Fear-Free Approach To Mobile Vet Services
One of the main focal points of H&L Mobile Veterinary Services is on dogs and cats that have varying levels of fear or aggression.
For fearful dogs that struggle with being away from their owner, we welcome pet parent involvement while ensuring their safety. Our patients can lick from a small cup of peanut butter the owner holds while we perform services such as nail trims and blood draws, sometimes without the patient even noticing what we're doing!
Aggressive dogs that have a low tolerance to having their boundaries crossed have options too. Various sedation methods are available when necessary, and these don't always involve an injection. Medication administered orally or intranasally can often achieve a satisfactory level of light sedation.
We handle fractious cats that become stressed under physical restraint with weighted blankets and 'astronaut' helmets. A patient can be snugly fitted into a 'purrito' and, with the helmet, can still see, hear, and breathe comfortably while being restrained.

Multi-cat households (yes, we have clients with 10+ cats!) no longer need to haul each pet to the vet. Appointments can be handled all at once or split across multiple days, and the same goes for multi-dog clients.
Elderly or oversized dogs that can no longer get into the car get care brought right to them, including blood work and other diagnostics, sometimes without ever having to leave their dog bed.

Dr. Sophia Leone, DVM
Owner & Veterinarian
Dr. Leone attended the University of Arizona, graduating with a degree in Veterinary Science With Honors and a minor in Business Administration, before completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University (class of 2020)
Her career began in commercial swine veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania, later expanding into vaccine clinics, small animal general practice, and emergency medicine. Relief services across multiple animal emergency hospitals throughout PA provided her with experience in caring for critical patients, performing emergency surgeries, and treating outpatients.
H&L Mobile Veterinary Services was founded to bring care to underserved patients who might not otherwise have access to a veterinarian.A Carlisle, PA resident, Dr. Leone lives with her 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a cockatiel, and enjoys walking her dogs, doing arts and crafts, and reading.

Do Same-Day Mobile Vet Visits
Pet emergencies and sudden illnesses don't always happen at convenient times, and waiting days for an appointment isn't always an option. H&L Mobile Veterinary Services makes every attempt to reserve space each day for same-day urgent appointments, and next-day availability when same-day isn't possible, much like a traditional clinic would for sick visits.
Current and new clients can reach out to us directly when something feels off. Leave a message and we will get back to you as quickly as possible to determine next steps. This may mean fitting you in the same day, scheduling first thing the next day, or guiding you toward the most appropriate level of care.
After-hours and emergency appointments are available on a case-by-case basis and are subject to additional fees. We prioritize non-client end-of-life appointments and make every effort to accommodate those requests promptly.
